Eldorado Springs Pix
09.05.2005 04:32 PM
Yesterday, the SM, Sugar Magnolia, and I went for a hike in Eldorado Canyon State Park in CO. I just put up the best of the pix that I took here. If you ever get the chance to go up and there and go hiking they have several trails, the wife and I took the Rattlesnake Gulch trail. It's a very nice trail, it was rated "moderate", but the loose rocks can take a tool on you ankles if you are not careful. It was a fairly short trail, 1.4 miles, with 700 feet of elevation gain. The trail ends in a very scenic plateau looking out onto the Continental Divide. If you ever decide to head up try to park in the lower lot and walk to the trail head along the mountain stream. Eldorado Springs is about 1.5 hours north of Denver on Highway 93. To get there from Denver, take 6th Avenue to Highway 58 in Golden, then Highway 58 to Highway 93.
