Today we released our first press release about what we've been doing behind the curtain.

The goal of MosaicGlobe is to provide "creatives", artists, musicians, photographers, writers, etc., with a reasonably priced alternative to some other artist hosting sites. Simple content mangement that stays out of their way and let's them get stuff done without having to know HTML.

Our story is simple, a buddy and myself, didn't like the way the Open Source CMS systems worked and pay ones were too expensive. So we, started designing a new CMS that would be written in PHP. After numerous, starts and restarts, I started looking at Python alternatives, then I found RoR. And I was hooked. So we knocked out some simple apps and after I was comfortable we started in on it.

I would like to send thanks to the guys at 37Signals for sharing their story and Rails. I don't know if I would have made the leap, if not.
